On an ordinary autumn weekday near Rostov-on-Don, on the way to school, a group of students came across an unusual find for those places. In a local forest, not far from the path, the children noticed a large animal, and when they came closer, they found out that it was none other than a small lion. The animal was found in a little-known village called the Sower, located in the Salsky district of the Rostov region. This event took place on Wednesday, November 28th.
Pupils who discovered a small predatory animal immediately delivered it straight to their school, where the lion cub was temporarily placed in the gym. The director of this educational institution, Angelika Chemerisova, was forced to call the rescue service and the police in order to report a small lost cub in her school.
At the moment, the local law enforcement authorities decided to leave the animal in school until it becomes clear where it can be transported. A careful search is also underway for its possible owner. Investigators have two versions. According to one of them, a predator could quietly escape from the Safari mobile zoo that was recently in the village. According to another version, a small animal could be left by its owners, who realized that they were not able to contain this animal. It is not yet established how much time the lion cub was in the forest.
When a group of children came across a predatory cat, it looked very exhausted, scared, dirty and hungry. It seems that the lion spent at least several days in the forest, if not more. The school staff, together with students of all classes, began to carefully solder the young king of the jungle with milk. Without exception, all schoolchildren participate in this process, since far from every day they have the opportunity to groom, or at least look at such an animal.
