Can you imagine that 20 years ago there were no mobile phones. Despite the fact that developments in this area have been carried out since the late 40s, for a very long time all the tubes were only prototypes weighing from 1 to 3 kg. The first mobile phones were not particularly functional: you could talk on them for about 30-60 minutes, but it took several hours to charge. They cost several thousand dollars and were available only to very wealthy people. Only in the mid-90s mass production of more compact and less expensive models began. According to the estimates of telecom operators, now in Russia there are about 220 million subscribers.

Today, many people, leaving their homes, check first of all not the presence of the keys to the apartment, but whether they forgot their cell phone. Without it, they feel like no hands. And how do Russian women relate to this means of communication? The “Women's Opinion” portal decided to find out how relations with mobile are in the female half of the country's population.

As it turned out, most Russians do not attach excessive importance to this device - 61.9%. For them, this is just a means of communication, forgetting which is an unfortunate oversight, quite experienced. However, 24.5%, on the contrary, cannot imagine life without their phone. And they get nervous when it suddenly does not appear at hand. This phenomenon is even called - nomophobia. This is a term coined by British researchers in 2008 and refers to people who are anxious when they don’t have access to a mobile phone. According to one study in Western countries, up to 66% of people already suffer from this type of phobia.

But 12.1% of women do so well without a cell phone that they can even refuse it. And finally, 1.5% simply do not have a tube.

If suddenly, for some reason, mobile communications cease to function, for most Russians this certainly will not be the end of the world. Researchers note that, in general, the older generation that grew up without this device is indifferent to its presence. But young people not only do not see life without a cell, but also compete in its "trick", tracking the latest mobile phone market.

The survey involved 4,780 residents of Russia from 129 cities. The age of respondents is from 20 to 45 years.
