On March 24, at a meeting with cultural workers, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that within the framework of the Year of Culture, Russia will develop domestic tourism. Today one of the most promising areas in this area is agritourism.

But if in Europe vacation in the countryside has become a fashionable trend for a long time, in Russia the village is associated with outdoor facilities, a cold shower and grandmothers on the bench. Does this correspond to reality? Could a Russian village offer today a holiday better than in Europe?

Doesn't hit the spot

Compared with Europe, vacation in the countryside will cost much less. Accommodation per person can average 300-500 rubles. without food, and in Europe for such money you can only get a bed in a 6-room hostel. And that is not a fact. Indeed, on average a hostel in Europe costs about 20-30 euros. And the average cost of hotel accommodation in Europe in February 2014 was 101 euros, or almost 5,000 rubles. according to the trivago Hotel Price Index (tHPI). And now add the cost of travel and air travel.

By European standards

Rural holiday prices bother you? Is it possible to get a high level of quality for such money? Today in the village you can find a rest in a comfortable house with a sauna, and next to it there will be a hayloft, endless expanses and natural village products. So in "Manor Yastrebino" has everything that residents are accustomed to.

megacities - hot showers, satellite TV, equipped kitchen, sauna and even guarded parking. And right on the outskirts, just 30 meters away, the ice-free river Khrevitsa flows and there is no soul nearby. Only you and nature.

Choice for every taste

Of course, the "chips" of rural recreation can be very different. Someone, following Western standards, feeds guests with locally produced food, which is called, “with piping hot”, someone treats tourists with spiritual food, recreating “national specifics”. There are a lot of holiday options in the village: “boarding house”, “tour with accommodation in traditional national dwelling”, “national village”, “VIP-village”, “country hotel”. Most tourist businessmen are indigenous villagers who have decided to re-equip their homes for regular reception of guests. There are also large investors who are building at once entire villages “antique” or “national tradition”.

So in the Leningrad region there is an island of the present Wild West - the ranch "White rosehip". This is a park and entertainment complex, where the cowboy city, Indian village and Mormon settlement are recreated. Guests can try their hand at archery, tomahawk throwing, working with a lasso or riding a wild bull.

Where to find rest in the countryside?

In more detail about these and other types of rural recreation can be found on the All-Russian portal "Rosagrotourism. RF", which will start in early April 2014. Here will be collected proposals for agritourism from all over the country, for every taste and wallet: from living on the shore of the lake in the same house along with

the owners of the farm to a two-storey mansion with a sauna and a pool in the backyard.

This is the first completely free site for rural recreation for both tourists and farmers themselves. All expenses for the creation of the portal and its further development were assumed by a non-profit organization, the United Center for Agricultural Development Foundation.

"In Europe, agro-tourism has long become a fashion trend. It’s time to break stereotypes in Russia. People should rest and leave money in their own country. Agro-tourism is one of the most promising areas of domestic tourism and can give a powerful impetus to the development of the Russian tourism industry as a whole", - says President of the United Center for Agricultural Development Foundation Klim Galiullin.

Come to rest in the village, help the development of domestic tourism in your country!
