Lavash Lasagna - General Cooking Principles

One of the rules of haute cuisine - great dishes are born out of nothing. So, if you have a little bit of all products, you can create something truly tasty and unusual. An example of such a dish is lavash lasagna.

Of course, the Italians in this dish do not recognize the familiar classic lasagna. This is not surprising, since lasagne in its historic homeland is made exclusively from sheets of dough. But not always following the rules is necessary. Try replacing the dough with thin Armenian lavash, for filling take your favorite foods, and you will get a delicious hearty meal.

What are the advantages of pita lasagna over classic lasagna? Firstly, such a dish is cooked in just 10-15 minutes. If you did not wait for guests, and they suddenly appeared, then from a minimum of products in the shortest possible time you can cook a tasty second.

Another advantage is that such "lasagna" is much easier than traditional in terms of caloric content. Needless to say, even from coarse flour, the dough in any case is high-calorie, and thin pita bread is light.

In addition, the essential ingredient of classic lasagna is bechamel sauce. It is easy to cook and it is very tasty, but "heavy", as it consists of rich cream. This sauce is necessary for real lasagna, but there is no need to cook it if you are making lasagna from lavash.

Lavash Lasagna - preparation of products and dishes

Armenian lavash is suitable for cooking lasagna only if you first let it soak in the sauce. Otherwise, in the oven it will become brittle and dry. What can serve as a sauce? Mix cream and sour cream, kefir and egg or ryazhenka with egg, add spices - the sauce is ready. Most often, fermented milk products are used for the sauce, immersing the cut sheets of pita in them for 10-12 minutes. During this time, pita will be soaked, but not soaked.

You can take your favorite ingredients, both meat and vegetable, as a filling. In addition, you can cook fruit lasagna with pita bread using cottage cheese and sweet fruits.

How and where to prepare lasagna pita? Most often I use the oven, warm it before putting inside the form with lasagne. But you can also use the slow cooker. Lubricate the bowl with oil and set the "Baking" mode for 20-25 minutes.
