On Friday, Russia will host the opening of a large-scale all-Russian action “Biblionoch-2013”. For visitors, 700 bookstores, libraries, art cafes and museums will open their doors. According to the official release, in 2013 the action, the main theme of which is “A Big Literary Journey”, is designed to support reading and allow the book and library communities to find new ways of professional cooperation and interaction with society.

A variety of thematic events will be held throughout the country: public lectures, contests, author song evenings, meetings with writers, excursions and photographers workshops. As part of the Reader's Marathon event, the country's libraries will conduct a survey to find out the readers' preferences of the Russians. The most popular authors and the most read works in Russia will be announced during the "Bible Night".

The opening ceremony of Biblionocha 2013 will be held at the Russian State Library in Moscow on Friday, April 19. The event will feature prominent writers, literary critics and library directors. After the ceremony, an evening press tour is planned for representatives of the media, during which journalists will visit the libraries named after Nekrasov and Turgenev, as well as the RSL repository.

Recall that the action "Biblio" is held for the second time. 750 bookstores and cultural institutions of Russia took part in Biblionoch-2012.
